We had a truck partially lose it’s trailered ditch digger a few days ago on a single lane ramp on one of the local highways.
This stuff happens occasionally, but what wasn’t expected is that traffic backed up for hours, the highway entrance ramps were closed to prevent even more congestion, and people were actually offroading down the grass hills bordering the highway, to get onto secondary roads.
Like long lines of big metal ants.
If you think that you will ever be able to get on the highways and bug out to your secure location if something serious happens, I encourage you strongly to reconsider this ridiculous notion if you live anywhere near populated areas.
A single truck effectively cancelled 99% of highway traffic in my town. Now imagine panicked soccer moms and dads trying to get their families someplace safe.
Food for thought.
